Norm`s White Horse in Metduen

My family was staying at a nearby hotel, and I picked white horse for dinner on a Friday night based on Google reviews. Great choice! Seemed like mostly local customers. Google description says "fine dining" but it's not, more of a local bar with great food. Seafood was really fresh, cooked well, and reasonably priced. Chowder, scallops, onion rings, spinach, fish tacos were all excellent. Everything was on the"well-seasoned" side bordering on spicy, which I like. Two kids shared a 10" pizza that was easily 14". Pizza sauce was a little too sweet for me, but I'm from Chicago and that's probably personal preference. Service was very friendly and attentive.

Friendly wait staff excellent chicken barns great prices. We had a mercy meal there for my aunt. Comfortable and inviting

Best seafood chowder I have ever had.

The food was great, however our server was a little bit focused on getting other things done so it felt a little slow, but that's also probably our fault for coming in late. I'd definitely recommend it!

Yearly visit from Texas. Chowder, steamers, and lobster roll. Always good. That is envy wer keep going back.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch of Baha haddock tacos with sweet potato fries. We ate outside by the river under a large umbrella. The service was excellent . A glass of white wine topped off an enjoyable meal. Plan to return soon.

First of all, somehow this was indicated as "fine dining" in Google Maps. It is definitely not fine dining. It's a pub. Once you have that sorted out, your expectations will be better met. It is a very casual atmosphere.The food was fine, but on the expensive side for what you get (in my opinion) and the wait was crazy. They weren't that busy, so I'm not sure what was happening.The staff was friendly.The back of the restaurant has a bit of a view of the river, which is nice.Parking is right off the road, with little room for maneuvering.

Been going for years! Absolutely love it! I'm beyond speechless everytime. The Food,service,atmosphere,prices,etc.are 5+ ☆'s in every way. I also would like to mention our dear friend Noel who introduced my significant other to Norms to begin with. He unfortunately has passed away but,I believe he is w/all his loved ones all the time(like)i Also believe my mother,friend whom past away by medical neglect& today is/would be her 72 B- day.She would have loved it there.(also she would've been completely taken back because in my entire life I've never tried coleslaw...until Norms & that is the only place i will eat it!)Thanks you all. Current owners,staff,chefs& so on. I cannot say enough about how incredible it is to go there.Sincerely,Lauren,Steve,My son Tyler,my mother & Noel!

Good wasn't good at all

Norms has been around for so long. My grandfather brought my mother here when she was a kid all the time. This is my second here and it's just fantastic. Their food has great seasonings and spices and they have plenty of food to choose from from appetizers, to burgers, chicken, seafood and so much more. And the staff is always friendly which is always a huge plus. A+

Food is great, service can be slow

Had the last chicken barbaque at Norms on closing night Aug. 14th. It was amazing as usual! Will miss this place.

If you've driven by this place, but haven't gone in yet, GO IN! Best seafood chowder on the East Coast in my opinion. Great variety of foods, I've never had a bad meal here.

The service is very friendly and personal but not intrusive. Cozy bar and restaurant with great river view! The food was made to order and excellent. Pistachio martini is unique & yummy! Every drink we ordered had well-balanced flavors & was definitely not watered down! From the grilled cheese to pizza to our fried fish, the food was made & delivered with care.

The food is awesome and so are the waitresses. Most of the time, I’d give 5 stars for the food and service!Now, the interior is “rustic”, if you wish to call it that, totally dated, and it smells funny when you come in, almost like someone’s uncle’s old cabin in the wood that he only uses a couple of days a year to hunt moose...

Very fun atmosphere!!! Went with my friends from college and we had a great time. Wonderful service. The drinks are prepared just right and decent prices.

Wonderful staff and amazing food. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, and we almost drove by it, but once inside it's very inviting and we were greeted right away. My wife got the cup of broccoli cheddar soup, which looked more like a bowl of soup, Very creamy and delicious. I got the mixed grill trio with chicken, sirloin tips, and sausage. The tips and chicken were great, the sausage was ok. Maybe it was me, but the sausage didn't do much for me. The others in our party got the fried fish plate with onion rings, hamburger, and also a pizza. Only rave reviews from everyone. We also ordered Martinis which were also fantastic. Most times I regret ordering a martini because it never lives up to the description, but this time it surpassed my expectations. The server was friendly and attentive. We are already planning on a return visit.

The food choice is excellent. My server Donna was great. I recommend them to anyone. The new ownership is great. The view if the river is an added bonus.

Chicken barb is a must, it's really good dipped in the french onion soup. Glad we finally made it to this Merrimack Valley institution. I should note that the staff is wicked friendly and incredibly flexible with kids meals since they don't have a separate kids menu.

Simply awesome! You might easily look at the front of the building, form an inaccurate opinion and drive on. However, you will be making a huge mistake!! The food, the service and the quiet environment makes this place a hidden gem!! Outstanding quality and value will be bringing us back every time we visit the area.

Our first visit and it was terrific! Shared an order of crab cakes and each of us had a bowl of seafood chowder. Both items were great. We will definitely be returning ❤️

The spot is extraordinary and broad, the meals was yummy and the rates were very fair. quick, productive service and very friendly staff members. Will definitely recommend this spot.

This is definitely NOT a fine dining place, it is a cozy pub. The prices were a little high. The view from inside the bar is ok as it shows a big parking lot and the river. I'm only giving it 3 stars because I wasn't all that impressed with flavor their lobster pie had (or lack of) The (very little) lobster meat that it came with was floating in flavorless butter & very little topping that would have made it the "pie" part of this dish. I was told that the vegetable was broccoli so I was pleasantly surprised when it was actually a vegetable medley. Although the carrots were a little too hard for my taste it was a nice addition to the pie. My sweet potato fries were good except that I bit into a cold one when I dug in. The bar itself is clean, the service was friendly and attentive. I've had better food from here and I will most definitely go back when I'm in the area.

Awesome staff, delicious food and great selection if you can find some time to stop by, do it. You won't be disappointed!
